Position Summary
You will be responsible for the overall management and execution of the CVS Health Care Delivery Informatics strategy.This involves the standardization of clinical definitions, interpretation of clinical data, and guiding long term clinical data investments.Working across lines of business, the Director will align and work with senior leaders to provide consistent guidance and insights on how clinical data is be used to support our customer vision and leadership in healthcare. The Director will provide leadership direction, define project scope, identify scalable solutions, manage project deliverables to ensure successful implementations of the clinical data management strategy and electronic health records. You will oversee the governance of the health record platform working with senior leaders from multiple business units as well as representatives from Legal, Medical Affairs, Privacy, and Compliance to ensure the systems provides excellent data integrity and quality while meeting the business operations goals.Working with the VP and Chief Health Informatics Officer, the Director will represent CVS Health Care Delivery to several clinical data vendors and partners.
The Essential Roles and Responsibilities of The Role are:
- Collaborating with key internal and external stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements to design and implement robust clinical data solutions
- Research and interpret regulatory clinical requirements and clinical reporting
- Assessing existing available clinical data, identifying data gaps, and collaborating with data strategy, IT, business partners and vendors to develop approaches to closing the data gaps
- Guide long term clinical data investment and help prioritize initiatives
- Serve as the strategic lead for Electronic Health Record Governance reviewing and maintaining policies and procedures relating to all aspects of the health record system
- Ensuring cross-team participation with external partners and leveraging specialized expertise from across Enterprise Analytics, IT Delivery, and other internal partners
- Oversight and tracking of Electronic Health Record projects with multiple business units
- Developing strategic roadmaps and reviewing future features/functionalities on the vendor roadmap to determine applicability and opportunity within the software
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Electronic Health Record systems utilizing your expertise to support various business areas and initiatives within CVS Health.
- Identifying and mitigating potential project risks and engaging business partners as needed in all areas including Medical, IT, Privacy, Legal, and Compliance
- Resolving project issues utilizing analytical, technical, and managerial skillsets
- Constructing presentations and delivering project information to stakeholders and partners
- Communicating complex technical subjects to technical and non-technical audiences.
Required Qualifications
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, candidates will need to have a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in healthcare consulting, leadership, technology and/or electronic health records governance/management.
You will also need to have demonstrated experience in the following:
- Experience working with clinical data set management and strategy at a large organization across multiple constituencies as well as extensive experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Experience leading projects and processes, including coordinating activities across diverse departments and ensuring that contributions across different teams are aligned and integrated as part of overall delivery.
- Experience working with legal and compliance partners in support of proper creation and execution of system policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of regulations and standards related to the management of patient health information (PHI).
- Baseline discipline experience as a business analyst, developer, technical/applications specialist, project manager, test analyst or similar role
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading or managing a system governance structure engaging diverse stakeholders to set standards, document governance frameworks and resolve differences.
- Ability to quickly develop knowledge and understanding of new domains and underlying data sources.
- Ability to work with business users and technical resources to understand project requests and translate requirements to the final project deliverables.
- Ability to create and deliver project artifacts (such as project timelines, status reports, requirements documentation, and test plans).
- Experience across the full project lifecycle (discovery, requirements definition, design, build, testing, and deployment).
- Ability to identify, assess, communicate, and resolve complex problems and facilitate issue resolution and risk mitigation.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including developing and delivering presentations to internal and external audiences with the goal of obtaining feedback and alignment on project goals and delivery strategies.
- Experience with system governance, policy and procedure documentation
- Strong relationship management experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, Project, PowerPoint).
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline or comparable experience
Masters Degree preferred
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$100,000.00 - $231,540.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
