We are looking for a Systems Engineering Modeler to join our team. The goal of a Systems Engineering Modeler at Wisk is to ensure that we develop our behaviors, functions, architecture, and interfaces via Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) in support of our certification design gates. You will be part of the SE Process and Modeling team that is responsible for owning the entire MBSE model in support of our certified Aircraft Supersystem program.
This is a hybrid work opportunity. At Wisk, this means working onsite at our Mountain View office 3 days per week with flexibility for the remainder of the days.
In this role you will be responsible for ensuring our MBSE model is developed per our processes and in support of program milestones toward certification of our Aircraft Supersystem. This includes the development and modeling of our Use Cases, Behaviors, Functions, Architecture, State Machines, and Interfaces in support of requirement development, system safety analyses, and ICD development. You will help build and maintain our MBSE environment and ensure our model follows a configuration managed development process toward PDR and CDR. You will help develop, maintain, and improve our MBSE deliverables utilizing SysML and Cameo, including the modeling process itself.
Responsibilities
- As part of the Chief Engineering organization, and deployed in the Systems Engineering Process and Modeling team you will act as a Systems Engineering Modeler for a novel type of aircraft development targeting the autonomous UAM market.
- You will support designing and implementing the MBSE model tool infrastructure (macros, validation scripts and rules), generate reports from the model, and create Systems Engineering models and documentation to deliver high quality Systems Engineering artifacts for a novel type of aircraft development targeting the autonomous UAM market.
- You will support and contribute to a high performing Systems Engineering team to maintain model elements such as use cases, behaviors, functions, requirements and architecture, as well as interfaces.
- You will lead cross-functional and cross-IPT coordination and resolution of model changes, model defects and configuration management.
- You will support the model defect/issue tracking process, maintain the defect backlog and facilitate the defect fix and technical debt management, planning and triage processes. You will support the model change management process, maintain the model change backlog and facilitate the model change request triage process.
- You will help support problem solving activities for developing out our modeling and configuration management processes.
- You will help coordinate tasks within an Agile scrum environment to continuously improve team development metrics and methodologies.
- You will support system requirements, interface, validation, and integration efforts that support the various IPTs across the engineering org.
- You will be detail and technically oriented and have the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision, with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast paced and challenging environment.
Requirements
- B.S. in engineering and 5 years experience in systems engineering or certification
- Experienced with MBSE process, language (SysML, ARCADIA), and tools (CAMEO, CAPELLA, etc.) and its use in complex system development
- Experience in the use and maintenance of modeling and simulation tools
- You have worked in the autonomous aircraft industry, or have experience in the development in complex aircraft systems, avionics systems, flight management systems, fleet operations systems
- You have hands-on experience in development and decomposition of requirements, developing and allocating functions, modeling functions and interfaces, and collaborating with certification and systems safety teams to deliver certification deliverables
- You have an applied knowledge of complex aircraft systems and familiarity with ARP4754A, DO-160, DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4761, Part 23/25 regulations, or similar standards
- You have experience with requirements management tools such as Polarion, Doors, etc.
- You have excellent communication and collaboration skills
- This role will require 10% of travel
Job Type: Full-time
Pay range the company expects to pay: $138,000 - $163,000 per year - The starting base salary within this range for this role varies based on factors such as your geographical location, and your relevant job-related experience that is consistent with a business necessity.
