SAIC has an immediate opening for a full-time Accountant that is graduating in the Spring of 2025 or 2026. This position supports high visibility customer activities that are critical to national security. Our team promotes a culture of collaboration, creativity, and work-life balance. In this role you will be responsible for assessing technical accounting requirements for a variety of complex transactions; implementing Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); recommending and implementing industry best practices; and ensuring appropriate accounting control procedures are maintained for all relevant process areas. This position is located in Sterling, VA and requires background screening and successful processing for a Top Secret security clearance.

In this role responsibilities include:

Perform technical accounting research on transactions of substantial size
Assist in the preparation of periodic financial reporting and executive summaries
Review and analyze new accounting pronouncements and determine impacts
Provide analysis and support to external auditors
Perform corporate tax analysis and review of federal state and local tax filings

Qualifications

Must have obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from an AACSB accredited institution prior to starting this position
3 years of related experience, which can be professional or academic
Must be able to complete and obtain a TS/SCI and Poly security clearance processing prior to starting
A strong interest in performing technical accounting research over a broad range of topics
Ability to navigate and interpret relevant authoritative literature to evaluate and recommend solutions
Exceptional communication skills
Strong organizational and management skills
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Willingness to conduct domestic travel
Desired Experience:
Internship with one of the Big 4 public accounting firms
Certified Public Accountant
Master's Degree in Finance or Accounting
Experience in forensic accounting to include anti-money laundering activities
