YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:
The Junior Network Engineer will be a resource to assist other staff engineers in design, documentation, and support of the company’s nationwide data/voice network, including WAN, LAN, Wireless, and VoIP across branch offices, construction jobsites, and cloud data centers.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Design, configure and implement full network build outs of jobsite IPSec VPN network, Wireless, and L2 switching.
- Assist engineers in the configuration and implementation of multiple VLAN LANs, MDF/IDF trunks, WAN routers and MPLS and internet circuits, Corporate firewalls, Corporate DMZ, ACLs, NATs, routing and QoS.
- Perform configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, security remediations, and utilization on network equipment including switches, next gen firewalls, routers, load balancers, etc, and wireless and WAN and IPSec VPN internet circuits and networks, including cloud data centers such as AWS, VMC, and Oracle cloud.
- Perform configuration and maintenance, troubleshooting, security remediation on telecom/VoIP equipment, including VoIP applications, hardware, SIP trunks and gateways.
- Perform configuration and maintenance, troubleshooting, security remediation of A/V, conference room, collaboration hardware and software.
- Troubleshoot and serve as Tier 1/2 escalation support for the 24x7 nationwide LAN, WAN, Wireless, and cloud networks, equipment, and telecom/VoIP services with end users, business units, and IT system administrators, applications support, and support help desk teams.
- Troubleshoot and serve as Tier 1/2 escalation support for A/V, conference room, collaboration hardware and software with end users, business units, and IT system administrators, applications support, and support help desk teams.
- Collaborate and assist with data network and telecom/VoIP projects/audio visual conferencing and collaborate across system administration, applications, and support teams to implement new solutions and processes.
- Collaborate, communicate, and provide technical network expertise and support with other IT and support teams in cross-team projects and initiatives.
- Proactively monitor and manage the nationwide data networks and telecom services and provide corrective actions or recommendations when required.
- Work with telecom ISP carriers to order, install, troubleshoot and maintain network WAN/internet circuits
- Utilize and maintain network monitoring tools and applications.
- Maintain a current skillset, continually research, evaluate, recommend, and implement new technologies and improvements.
- Follow change management processes and proper communication with management.
- Document new technologies, implementations, current solutions, RFO’s, and lessons learned.
- Implement and assist in disaster recovery procedures and evaluate and recommend disaster recovery processes.
- Develop and maintain network topology diagrams.
- Develop and maintain procedure, processes, inventory documentation.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- Working knowledge of Cisco IOS switching, routing, and firewalls hardware and topologies
- Working knowledge of Cisco and industry standard networking LAN, WAN and wireless protocols (OSI model, TCP/IP protocol, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, 802.1Q trunk, CDP, LLDP, LACP/LAG, multicast, VLSM and CIDR subnetting, QoS, DSCP, HSRP, etc)
- Working knowledge of network management and administration for ASA CLI and/or ASDM management, and Catalyst IOS CLI
- Working knowledge of Cisco Firepower, next generation firewalls, and Firepower Management Center
- Working knowledge of Cisco wireless controllers (Aironet/Catalyst)
- Working knowledge and experience in structured copper Category cabling and fiber optic technology installations (SMF, MMF, SFP modules and connector types)
- Experience with Network Monitoring tools/applications such as SolarWinds, Nagios, ManageEngine OpManager
- Experience in VoIP and SIP trunk technologies a plus
- Experience in Cisco Call Manager, Unity, and Webex Contact Center a plus
- Experience in video conference room technologies, network integration, and support
- Experience in developing and maintaining network topology diagrams and documenting processes and procedures
- Experience in AD, LDAP, RADIUS, Windows NPS a plus
- Experience in Microsoft O365/tenant administration a plus
- Experience in VMWare ESXi a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, etc.). Oracle suite, Bluebeam, Revit a plus
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Can communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to coach and assist/direct Helpdesk technicians locally or remotely.
- Ability to be self-motivated, proactive, and effective team player
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize, manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary
- Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others.
WHAT YOU BRING TO US:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in network WAN/LAN administration, support, and troubleshooting
- Minimum 1 years of experience of configurations and implementations of WAN, LAN, and Wireless networks and associated hardware, firewalls, IPSec VPN tunnels
- Minimum 1 year of experience in AV / conference room technologies and support
- Networking, cloud networking, and security certifications are a plus
- Can be an Associates or Bachelor’s degree in related discipline, or a combination or education, training, and relevant experience preferred
TRAVEL:
- Up to 25%, including office and active construction jobsite visits
- Jobsite visits may require use of PPE Personal Protective Equipment and may be dusty environments
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- General work environment – sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning
- Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.

- Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
