Being a part of the AddeU Internship Program, you will be working on meaningful project(s) that you can feel proud of and present back to the company at the end of your experience. In addition to having a supporting manager and mentor, we have a fantastic onboarding program to get you acclimated and ready for your time with us. Fun events and super cool swag are also included!
At the moment, our 12-week internship experience will be in the Edinburgh office. Dates are currently set for June - September 2025 but please advise your recruiter. Seeking Scotland/UK students only.
The Role
We are currently seeking a Portfolio Data Engineering Intern.
A core part of Addepar’s business relies on us being able to quickly and correctly ingest data from a variety of sources, including 3rd party data providers, custodial banks, data APIs, and even direct user input. The data engineers on the Portfolio Data Engineering team help build and maintain the transformation and cleaning steps of our ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipeline before it can be stored and accessed by our customers in a standardised fashion. As a data engineering intern on this team, you’ll be building components within the ETL pipeline that automate these cleaning and transformation steps. Your team is a big component of growing and serving Addepar’s client base with minimal manual data cleaning effort required from our clients or from our internal data operations team.
What You’ll Do
- Write code and contribute to our data pipelines, supporting the ingestion, analysis and enrichment of financial data.
- Learn and demonstrate engineering best practices and principles.
- Collaborate effectively with product managers, engineers and stakeholders on your project.
- Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Produce a retrospective and demonstrate your summer project to an internal audience.
Who You Are
- Must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary educational institution ( university must be located in Scotland or the UK) & must be returning to school after internship.
- Pursuing a degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or a related technical field.
- Available to intern for the full 12 weeks.
- Experience with object-oriented programming.
- Understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Interest in data modeling, visualization, and ETL pipelines.
- General familiarity with some of the technologies we use:
- Python, Apache Spark / PySpark, Java/Spring
- Amazon Web Services
- SQL, relational databases
- Knowledge of financial concepts or data systems is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
