Overview
The API & Integrations Documentation Specialist is responsible for creating and maintaining the Origami Risk API documentation portal. This person will also author accurate, engaging, and user-centric API, developer, and product documentation, recipes, and API help and support articles that adheres to the Origami Risk style guidelines. While the role will focus mainly on API and developer documentation, this role will also create other help center materials as needed.
Responsibilities
- Works in a fast-paced environment and able to maintain multiple projects at once.
- Understands industry standards and best practices for API developer portals.
- Develops and creates an enterprise API and developer documentation strategy.
- Creates and maintains the Origami Risk API documentation portal.
- Maintains and updates API documentation as changes and enhancements are made.
- Collaborates with subject matter experts (SMEs) to produce API, developer, and platform help materials.
- Works closely with SMEs to understand the technical details of our APIs and how they integrate with various systems.
- Creates comprehensive and accurate documentation for APIs, including their functionalities, capabilities, and integration processes.
- Translates complex technical information into clear, concise, and easy-to-understand documentation for developers.
- Creates diagrams, flowcharts, and other visual aids to assist in understanding the API.
- Analyzes user feedback to improve user experience.
- Assists with the investigation and solution development for gaps in documentation.
- Contributes to the improvement of the team’s documentation process and style, as well as cross-functional efforts.
- Partners with clients and implementation services to ensure product success.
- Creates integration and connector descriptions and other content as needed to support the Origami Workflow and Integration Center

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in English, Technical Communications, Technical Writing, or relevant field of study.
- Ability to demonstrate understanding of documentation/content lifecycle.
- 4+ years’ experience as a Technical Writer with at least 3 years of experience creating SOAP API and developer documentation
- Experience creating and maintaining an API documentation portal.
- Preferable, intermediate to advanced experience understanding Microsoft C# programming language
- Intermediate to advanced experience creating and publishing API and developer documentation using tools such as Drupal, Swagger, Postman, etc.
