At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time, others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.
This is an in-office position and you’ll be expected to work full-time in an office location, and therefore must live within commuting distance from your assigned office. You will work from this office beginning on your first day.
This position is not eligible to be performed in Alaska, Mississippi, North Dakota, or the Virgin Islands.

What you'll get to do...
- Operate, maintain, monitor and repair all facets of data center site critical infrastructure. This is to include an experienced background in the electrical/electronic field with design understanding, commercial building power, reading prints and diagrams for equipment such as: Generators, switchgear, ATS, ATO, STS, PDUs, UDBs, RPPs, UPS systems, switchgear and power distribution.
- For projects small to large, be capable of starting a project and manage and self-perform to completion. Proficient while working with external design teams and GCs.
- Review, supervise and operate all monitoring systems to include BMS, electrical power, fire panel, ATS, generators and Alber.
- Supervise and manage vendors working on all Critical facilities equipment (UPS, Generators, ATS, ATOs,switchgear, PDUs, UDBs, STS, RPPs, fire suppression and detection, controls, for GoDaddy-owned sites.
- Assist peers and management with TI build outs, small to large projects or large construction ventures, including final commissioning services.
- Perform high-level troubleshooting on critical systems, including detail level troubleshooting on electrical equipment.
- Lead, operate, and maintain all critical facility systems while working around IT production equipment within Server rooms, MDFs and IDFs.
- Communicate; work with peers/teammates for our customers and their needs, GoDaddy employees include DC operations, DC engineering, networking, storage, business continuity, GOC, Corporate facilities, Physical Security, etc.
- Able to work a flexible work schedule when needed (deployments, hot months, emergency call, off shift, vacation coverage). Normal working hours are M-F; day shift.
- Blended between work from home and work at the site as needed.
- Maintain/follow environmental programs, to include…hot work, MSDS/SDS, storm drainage, SPCC, EPA and hazardous waste removal.
- Help create, use, operate and maintain JIRA work tix system. (Equipment information, equipment history, work orders etc. Experience with ServiceNow is a plus.)
- Maintain records: service tickets, manuals, as-builds, blueprints, checklist, daily operation logs, spreadsheets, short- and long-range PM planning, etc.
- Able to self-perform and make decisions within job responsibilities and scope in the Critical facilities industry and in a fast paced/growth environment.
- Build specifications, change management documents, MOPs, SOPs EOPs and required documentation for computer rooms, and data centers and other critical areas based on comprehensive requirements.
Your experience should include...
- Trade school and/or comparable field experience in Data Center operations.
- 8+ years’ experience in the electrical trade, with a strong emphasis on proven operating experience in Data center environment or comparable environment.
- Direct experience operating and working with Liebert UPS 600 series and NXL systems, Square D electrical gear, ASCO electrical gear, critical power distribution equipment, Cummins generators and other related Critical Facilities equipment.
- Knowledge of commercial electrical systems and critical environment operations.
- Proficient use of computer workstation software programs. (Excel, Word, Power Point, MS Project, etc…)
- Familiarity and understanding of how monitoring systems in facilities work.
- Physical Stamina and agility sufficient to stand, walk, climb up and down ladders, and engage in similar physical activities as necessary to access all areas of facilities to operate, repair and maintain.
