What you’ll be doing:
- Establish and maintain purchasing strategies, coordinate daily purchasing activities, lead all aspects of staff supervision, and delegate tasks. Monitor internal metrics to achieve set objectives.
- Manage supplier relations, negotiating contracts, prices, and timelines; Maintain the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation.
- Coordinate with inventory control and purchasing teams to determine and manage inventory needs, keeping healthy inventory levels to meet DIOH and Inventory turns into goal.
- Verify that all acquired raw materials meet the necessary quality standards and specifications. Ensure that daily tasks are performed according to detailed procedures. Ensure that the entire team completes assigned training in their purchasing profile.
- Prepare cost estimates and manage budgets; mainly, Inventory projections & PPV Budgets.
- Train new employees in the purchasing process and how to use the purchasing system.
- Improve purchasing systems and processes, promoting a culture of continuous enhancement. Identify areas for improvement in the process and implement action plans to bring about positive change.
- Keep the dashboard updated with internal metrics to follow up on trends and audit the performance of each buyer.
- Supervise the activities to manage and control the purchase of services and MRO’s required by the operation on the site.
- Maintain good communication internally and externally, keeping effective channels and meetings with team members, other departments, and external members of the organization, as well as suppliers.
- Attend meetings and forums with managers' staff to track plant performance, metric status, and raise important issues and supply risks.
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, or equivalent.
- Minimum five years of supply chain and manufacturing experience, including team supervision in procurement. In-depth understanding of inventory management and supply chain. Proficient in purchasing software and systems (ERP/MRP).
- Proficient use of Microsoft tools; good understanding of modern ERP/MRP platforms such as SAP.
- Must be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and assignments while maintaining confidentiality. Able to handle a wide range of information, analyze it, and adjust to rapidly changing circumstances.
