Overview
The Cloud & Networking Business Operations team is establishing a dedicated group to lead cross-functional initiatives at the intersection of PLM, Sales, Operations, and Engineering. This team’s mission is to develop systems that transform data into actionable insights, enabling high-quality decision-making with minimal friction. By identifying and prioritizing high-impact areas that drive business performance and influence the P&L, the team will unlock deeper business insights and strategic opportunities.
This function will play a critical role in accelerating business performance and ensuring data-driven strategies shape the future of Cloud & Networking.
As a Global Planning and Execution Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in strategic planning, process optimization, and data-driven decision-making. You will work cross-functionally with teams across Sales, Operations, Finance, and Product Management to improve business processes, enhance reporting, and drive operational efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Facilitate synergies across teams to drive best practices and standardize key business readouts.
- Break down organizational silos and build productive relationships to accelerate growth.
Team Development
- Support efforts to build and optimize a team of planners at manufacturing sites.
- Help transform raw data into actionable business insights.
Executive-Level Reporting
- Manage and deliver weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reports to track risks and opportunities.
- Support reporting for key areas such as revenue, S&OP, AOP, QBRs, NPI metrics, and Hoshin readouts.
Business Process Improvement
- Assist in modernizing business reporting systems, transitioning from static spreadsheets to real-time dashboards (Tableau, factory MRP, Sales Cloud).
- Help manage and execute a prioritized list of process improvements, enhancing visibility into key metrics such as inventory turns, cost reduction, cycle times, and capacity utilization.
Performance Metrics & Financial Analysis
- Identify, track, and publish key leading and lagging indicators by product line.
- Benchmark performance against competition and track drivers of P&L performance.
- Support efforts to streamline financial reporting in Tableau, focusing on revenue, margin, cost, inventory, E&O, order backlog, bookings, and opex.
Cost Optimization
- Assist in revamping product cost tracking and identifying cost reduction opportunities.
- Support Kaizen initiatives to improve yields, scrap reduction, depreciation schedules, and manufacturing strategies.
Forecasting & Business Planning
- Partner with Sales, PLM, and Operations to support forecasting efforts, including nominal, upside, risk, opportunities, and buffer requirements.
- Assist in revenue and margin forecasting and collaborate on allocation strategies during quarter close.
ROI & Investment Tracking
- Work with Finance and business partners to analyze and track investments and budgets.
- Measure and track ROI, reconcile deviations from plan, and provide insights into budget performance

This internship will be on-site in San Jose, California.
Skills and Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor’s, mater's degree or MBA in business administration or a related field.
- Expected to graduate soon and eager to apply academic knowledge in a real-world business environment.
- Strong ability to plan and manage operational processes for efficiency and productivity.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and ambiguous environment.
- Experience or coursework related to budgeting and business planning.
- Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills for both internal and external engagements.
- Proactive and self-driven with a high level of initiative.
- Exceptional cross-functional communication and collaboration skills, especially in a global setting.
- Proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics, with experience using business management tools such as Tableau, Oracle Cloud, and Microsoft Suite.
This role is ideal for a motivated and analytical individual looking to gain hands-on experience in business operations while developing key skills in a high-impact corporate environment.
Pay Range: $20.19 - 45.14/hour
