OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Scientist I to join our Analytical Development (AD)/Quality Control team at Mammoth Bioscience. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and stability of cell and gene therapy products, including gRNA, mRNA, lipids, and LNP. This position requires a strong background in analytical techniques, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Develop, optimize, and transfer analytical methods for QC testing
- Perform routine and non-routine analytical testing of cell and gene therapy products for lot release, stability, and characterization
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in multiple analytical techniques and provide technical troubleshooting support
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Process Development, groups under Discovery and Translational Research to support method development, transfer, characterization, comparability, and investigation projects
- Analyze, track, and trend data to monitor analytical assays and ensure consistency in assay performance
- Author and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and technical reports and assist in the preparation of Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC) regulatory submissions
- Maintain detailed documentation of experiments and test results in an Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN) system
- Adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic research environment, demonstrating flexibility and strong problem-solving skills
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS- Degree in relevant discipline (biochemistry, chemistry, bioengineering or related fields)
- PhD, or Master’s degree + 3 years minimum experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 5 years minimum experience
- Strong expertise in analytical techniques such as HPLC (IP-RP, SEC, IEX), capillary gel electrophoresis, fluorescence-based RNA quantitation, qPCR, ELISA, UV spectrophotometry, DLS, MALS, Mass Spectrometry with focus on RNAs, lipids and lipid nanoparticles (LNPs)
- Proficiency in data analysis, statistical analysis, and trend analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Strong problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills
- Proficiency with software tools such as JMP, GraphPad Prism, LIMS, and ELN systems
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Experience in developing, qualifying, and testing analytical methods in both GMP and non-GMP settings, ideally within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry
- Analytical CMC development, method transfer, stability programs and CRO/CDMO management is highly desirable
- CMC project management experience will be a plus
- Excellent organizational skills towards multitasking in an extremely fast-paced environment with changing priorities

Base Salary Range: $ 134,890 - $142,170
The listed base salary range is for Mammoth employees in the Bay Area. Actual base salary will be determined by geographic work location, relevant professional experience, applicable skills, and internal equity. The base salary range for those working remotely outside of the San Francisco Bay Area may differ and will be determined by industry market data for the role and specific region.
