Job Summary
Sam Schwartz, a TYLin Company, is seeking an early career Traffic Engineer to join our New York City based Traffic Engineering Team.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
The selected individual will perform various traffic engineering and transportation planning tasks including:
- Conduct site visits, field observations and data collection
- Perform traffic, pedestrian, parking, safety, and transit analyses
- Use innovative data analytics tools and traffic analysis software
- Develop CAD-based design drawings of signs, markings, and signal controls
- Conduct reviews of transportation plans and drawings for operational effectiveness
- Prepare high-quality graphics, data visualizations, and reports
- Attend internal and external project meetings
Qualifications
The candidate must be organized, able to work both collaboratively and independently, manage priorities, think creatively, and meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or transportation engineering
- Expert user of Excel
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Adobe Illustrator
- Experience in traffic analysis software including HCS, Synchro/SimTraffic, and/or VISSIM preferred
- EIT certification preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to commute to the office at least three days per week
- Authorized to work in the US
This position is for Sam Schwartz’s New York City office; however, candidate would have the flexibility to work from Sam Schwartz’s Jersey City, NJ office as well.
Additional Information
Sam Schwartz is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $59,500 - $81,600 annually for this position and local market.
